Position: Cloud Backup and Recovery Specialist

Position Summary:
The Cloud Backup and Recovery Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the cloud backup and recovery systems within the organization. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based backup and recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze backup requirements, develop backup strategies, and execute measures to protect data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and manage cloud backup and recovery systems to ensure the integrity and availability of critical business data.
2. Develop and maintain backup policies, strategies, and procedures for various applications and systems.
3. Monitor backup and recovery operations, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance and adherence to service level agreements.
4. Test and validate backup and recovery procedures to ensure data recoverability and minimize downtime in the event of system failures.
5. Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to define backup requirements and implement appropriate backup strategies for different data types and systems.
6. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement in the backup and recovery infrastructure.
7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and IT teams regarding backup and recovery-related issues.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud backup and recovery.
9. Document backup and recovery processes, configurations, and changes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) as a Cloud Backup and Recovery Specialist or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of cloud backup and recovery technologies, including experience with leading cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
4. Proficient in configuring and managing backup and recovery solutions, such as cloud-native backup tools, backup software, and disaster recovery tools.
5. Solid understanding of backup and recovery concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
6. Experience in designing and implementing backup strategies for different data types and business applications.
7. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills to identify and resolve backup-related issues.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) would be advantageous.
